Dehradun: A 55-year-old cancer patient who was undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Shikesh and tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) died on Saturday morning.
This is the second death of a Covid-19 positive patient in Uttarakhand, where Comberbidity is the cause of death and does not contract SARS-CV-2, which causes the disease.
Ravi Kant, director, AIIMS, IM Shikesh, said the death of a female patient in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, was not due to Covid-19 but to cancer in the food pipe.
A bulletin from the state health department reported that the woman died of esophageal carcinoma due to type 2 respiratory failure.
